Surprise in the box

Don't get me wrong! I LOVE travelling!! But moving to another country is a specific kind of adventure. I should not complain...we always did it in style...with an international professional company. And boy those professionals are something else! The speed at which they wrap all your furniture and get it into boxes or the container is quite entertaining to watch!! Then you fly back home or to another country with your family and you go through the now familiar packing of essentials (like the right clothes for the right climate!), the waiting, going through customs with the maximum number of luggages (our record was 24!), the staying in a hotel for however long until you find the right house for your family. Then, with your husband at the office and your children in the right school (and THAT in itself is a HUGE accomplishment), you wait...for the BOXES
By boat from Houston to Brussels, it took 10 weeks. It's like Christmas come early so everyone gathers excitedly around, all so happy to find once again the favorite toy or stuffed animal or prized kitchen ustensil you've been doing without. Imagine our surprise when we uncovered our huge kitchen garbage can...still full of the garbage of ten weeks before!! I won't bother describing the pungent smell, I leave it to your olfactery imagination!! Like I said: "Boy, these guys are professionals!!"
